Welsh Assembly by-election: Alyn & Deeside

Voters go to the polls in a Welsh Assembly by-election at Alyn & Deeside on Tuesday February 6 following the death of Labour’s Carl Sergeant in November, four days after he was sacked as an Assembly minister amid allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards women.

The by-election takes place in an Assembly first-past-the-post seat. The North Wales regional proportional representation “top-up” seats are not affected.

Nominations close: Wednesday January 10 at 1600.

Polling: Tuesday February 6 from 0700 to 2200.

The results are expected in the early hours of Wednesday February 7 but could be later if there are any recounts.
